    Occupational Hygiene Technologist- Re-Advertise HAY 15

    Key Performance Areas:

    Risk assessment and workplace Monitoring according to statutory requirement

    • Coordinate, conduct and review occupational hygiene surveys in all departments and facilities.
    • Develop and maintain a Health Risk Assessment schedule for all facilities aligned to OHS Act.
    • Design and implement applicable monitoring program addressing the facilities identified risks.
    • Carrying out Occupational Hygiene survey as required in terms of OHS, NNR Acts and Regulations.
    • Identify mitigation plans and recommending occupational hygiene/health interventions to control the identified Occupational Hygiene related hazards in the workplace.
    • Make recommendations to the facilities manager on the findings.
    • Compile a comprehensive report as per SLA and submit to management timeously.
    • Analysis and interpretation of occupational hygiene results.
    • Advise facilities on PPE specifications and selection criteria

    Managing Health and safety standards

    • Maintain SHEQ Management system in accordance with Health and Safety standards.
    • Maintain the approved inspection authority status to ensure worker health and safety and compliance to SANAS standards.
    • Compile and co-ordinate occupational hygiene programme.
    • Compile and periodically review occupational hygiene procedures.
    • Purchasing and ensuring that all occupational hygiene equipment is calibrated and maintained in good operational condition.
    • Maintaining professional registration with SAIOH.

    Necsa Occupational Hygiene report writing

    • Writing monthly and quarterly report
    • Review and implementation of work procedures and SHEQ INS

    Qualifications and Experience:

    Education:

    • National Diploma in Environmental Health or Public health, B-Tech in Environmental health or related qualification, Passed all 6 Intermediary OHTA certificate in Occupational Hygiene (cert. OH)
    • Certification with SAIOH as an occupational Technologist
    • Legal Knowledge Certificate

    Experience: 

    • Minimum 3 to 5 years’ experience as an Occupational Technologist 3 years’ experience in a SHE system will be an advantage
