Senior Certificate / Grade 12 plus appropriate qualification that allows registration with the HPCSA in the relevant profession (where applicable). Current registration with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) as an Occupational Therapist with independent practitioner status. Completion of Community service. Computer literacy (Ms Word, Excel, Power Point). Knowledge of mental health legislations and related legal and ethical practices, PFMA and Public Service Act and regulations. Good written and communication skills. Ability to work as a member of a multidisciplinary team. Analytical thinking, independent decision-making and problem-solving skills.
Duties :
Render comprehensive mental health occupational therapy service in the hospital. that complies with the standards and norms of the profession. Assess and treat of clients with psychiatric disorders (children and adults) at various within the facility and those referred. level of function for suitable support and re-integration into the community. Implement quality assurance measures and participate in the formulation and review of strategies in the hospital. be responsible and assist in the management of all allocated resources. Participate in allocated administrative duties and assist with other clinical and administrative work duties as needed. Adhere to national and provincial policies, procedures, guidelines, and regulations. Work well within the MDT set up.
