    Speech Therapist & Audiologist / Speech Therapist (Grade 1 – 3)

    Requirements :

    • Appropriate qualification that allows for registration with HPCSA as either a Speech Therapist and Audiologist (STA) or Speech Therapist (ST). Current registration with HPCSA as STA or ST. Good verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work in a team. Ability to work under pressure in a changing environment. To relieve colleagues as the need arises and work closely with other disciplines. Must have completed community service. The following will be an added advantage: Experience in Alternative Augmentative Communication, Neurological disorders/TBI and Neonatal dysphagia.

    Duties :

    • Provide effective speech, language and dysphagia services for in-patient and external stakeholders in adherence to the scope of practice this includes (but is not limited to) assessing, diagnosing and treating patients within a multidisciplinary team.
    • Planning and problem solving appropriately. Providing education and counselling to patients, family and caregivers. Selecting, issuing and training on the appropriate use of assistive devices. Monitoring and reviewing of patient progress.
    • Documenting patient information, patient statistics. Attending ward rounds, discussions, meetings with multidisciplinary team. Liaising with relevant stakeholders and referring patients appropriately.     Requirements :

    • Grade 12 certificate/ NQF Level 4. Exposure in ECG (basic interpretation) will be an added advantage.

    Requirements :

    Ultrasound Radiographer - Grade 1-3

    Requirements :

    • Grade 12 (Senior Certificate), Degree/Diploma in Ultrasound Radiographer. Proof of current registration with HPCSA as an independent Ultrasound Radiographer.

    Duties :

    • Prepare exam room and Ultrasound equipment to conduct Ultrasound examinations in accordance with infectious disease, sterilization and patient safety protocols, policies and procedures. Perform ultrasound examination that gives important ultrasound diagnosis.
    • Use ultrasound machine to view interpret images with soundwaves for diagnostic and treatment of medical conditions. Co-ordinate and organize daily workload and smooth running of the department. Must have knowledge of the department functions.

    Podiatrist - Grade 1-3

    Requirements :

    • Senior Certificate / Grade 12. Appropriate Degree / Diploma that allows registration with Health Professions Council of South Africa as an Occupational Therapist.     Physiotherapist - Grade 1-3

    Requirements :

    • GRADE 1: No experience required after registration with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) as a Physiotherapist.
    • Grade 12/National senior certificate. Bachelor's degree/ National diploma in physiotherapy. Current registration with Health Professions Council of South Africa as a Physiotherapist.     Duties :

    • Comprehensive assessment, correct planning and provide treatment to the highest possible levels of patients referred for physiotherapy.     Pharmacist Assistant (Post Basic) Grade 1

    Requirements :

    • Registration with SAPC as Pharmacist Assistant - Post Basic. Current proof of registration with SAPC as a Pharmacist Assistant - Post Basic. Good communication and interpersonal skills.     Social Worker Grade 1

    Requirements :

    • An appropriate recognised four (4) year degree in Social Work. Registration with the SA Council for Social Service Professions and proof of current registration. Knowledge/experience regarding Health Care Social Work will be an added advantage. Applicant must be able to function within a multi-disciplinary team.     Medical Specialist Obstetrics and Gynaecology

    Requirements :

    • Appropriate qualification that allows registration with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) as a Medical Specialist in Obstetrics and Gynaecology. Registration with the HPCSA as Medical Specialist in Obstetrics and Gynaecology and proof of current registration. No experience required after registration with the HPCSA as a Medical Specialist.     • Work with public health and the districts clinical specialist teams to establish and maintain systems including surveillance, health information, communication and referral guidelines and processes to support the delivery of obstetrics and gynaecological services. Initiate, support and participate in clinical audit and quality improvement cycles with specific focus on obstetrics and gynaecology.
    • Implement effective monitoring and evaluation processes. Effective use of data and appropriate reporting on outputs and health outcomes. Initiative, support, or participate in relevant research.
    • Foster effective teamwork and collaboration within the cluster, DCST and University. Enable and support engagement with the local community, relevant non- government organizations and private providers.
    • Facilitate and ensure effective communication with all management structures within the hospital, the district, the cluster and the province and assist in providing regular reports on activities and initiatives to save mothers, babies, and children. Assist with the strategic and operational planning of services in the hospital, cluster, and province.
    • Assist with the coordination and supervision of obstetrics and gynecological services within the cluster and management of relevant human resources.
    • Assist with recruitment processes in the department, academic circuit, and cluster. Perform any other duties as requested by the department.

    Requirements :

    • Grade 12 and a Diploma in IT coupled with 2 years experience in ICT . A+/N+/MCSE/MCITP will be an added advantage.

    Medical Specialist Grade 1-3

    Requirements :

    • MBChB, HPCSA registration as Medical Specialist in Radiation Oncology after registration with HPCSA. Proof of current registration with the HPCSA 2025/2026.

    Duties :

    • The department of Radiation Oncology is based at Steve Biko Academic hopsital and affiliated with the University of Pretoria.
    • This will be a joint academic post. This is a full time, permanent postion for a Consultant Radiation Oncologist at Steve Biko Academic hospital.
    • The candidate should have full registration in radiation oncology with the health professional Council of South Africa. Clinical duties include running radiation oncology clinics, radiotherapy planning and treatment, participation in multi-disciplinary team meetings, supervision and training of registrars. Academic participation includes participation in research activities, lecturing undergraduate and post graduate students in medical and affiliated fields.

    Requirements :

    • MBChB, Angiography, Body and Neurointervention Directorate Diagnostic Radiology. Minimum Qualifications: Mmed (Rad) D or FC Rad (D) SA or equivalent. Extensive experience in General Radiology, Sonar, Mammography, CT,MRI, PET/CT, Angiography, Body and Neurointervention.     • Be competent in General Radiology, Ultrasound, Mammography, CT, MRI, PET/CT, Angiography and Interventional Radiology, including experience in Cardiac CT and MRI, Neuro CT and MRI.
    • Participate in pre and post graduate training and research projects. Fulfilment of Academic and administrative duties and criteria as required by Steve Biko Academic Hospital and the University of Pretoria. Render after hours clinical services as required.     Requirements :

    • Co-ordinate and organize daily workload/running of the department. Must ensure that equipment is adequately maintained and ensure QC tests are performed. Attend to seminars/congresses to keep abreast with advancement in technology and techniques.

    Requirements :

    • Post basic Pharmacist Assistant qualification that allows registration with South African Pharmacy Council (SAPC) as Pharmacist Assistant (Post Basic).     Dietician Production Grade 1

    Requirements :

    • Grade 12 and a B / BSc degree in dietetics with registration as an independent practitioner with HPCSA as a Dietician.
    • Candidate must be CPD compliant. Level would be dependent on verifiable experience for OSD purposes.
