A B Pharm. Degree or an equivalent qualification registrable with South African Pharmacy Council (SAPC) as a Pharmacist.
Current proof of registration with The South African Pharmacy Council.
A minimum of 9 years’ appropriate experience after registration as a pharmacist in public hospital and must have minimum of 5 years at a middle management level in the pharmaceutical environment. Computer proficiency. Must have a valid South African Driver’s License.
A good understanding of the National Drug Policy, the Essential Drug Programme, the Public Finance Management Act, Preferential Procurement Policy Framework Act, Good Pharmacy practice (GPG), the Medicines and Related Substance Act, the Nursing Act, the Health Act amongst others as well as Supply Chain Management and HR Management protocols in the public service and the planning process of Department.
Good verbal and written skills. Good communication and presentation skills. Willingness to register with SAPC as a tutor for the training of pharmacy interns and learner pharmacists’ assistants.
Duties :
To be overall Manager of the Regional Pharmacy. To register as the responsible Pharmacist for the Pharmacy at the JHB Health District with the SAPC. To be overall in charge of the Management of staff, stock, finances and processes in the pharmacy.
To ensure the functioning of the regional pharmacy and the therapeutics committee (PTC) in line with the provincial guidelines. To be responsible for the financing of and the management of the pharmacy budget. To ensure that medicines availability is maintained at 98% at the regional pharmacy.
Ensure the Pharmacy complies with all prescripts of the Ideal JHB District, the National Core Standard, the Auditor General, the Pharmacy Act, the Medicines Act, the Health Act, the Nursing Act, the PFMA as well as other applicable acts, policies, guidelines and directives. Maintain discipline and deal with grievances and labour relations issues in terms of the laid down policies and procedures. To ensure that the Pharmacy participates in and compliance with all Provincial and National Programmes.
