    Ocean Freight Supervisor I

    • This position resolves freight and Customs problems in a timely manner to meet customers' expectations and avoid penalties
    • develops operational goals and plans, monitors and communicates operations performance against plan and customer deadlines, sets priorities, reports financial & operational performance, prepares analyses for clients, and provides recommendations for operational improvements.
    • maintains client relationships, conducts customer meetings and business reviews to assist clients in maintaining a leading business edge.
    • develops responses to atypical issues and manages customer expectations through business reviews.
    • troubleshoots customer problems and escalates atypical issues for management recommendations.
    • manages departmental financial performance, organizes and prioritizes workloads, develops and maintains standard operation procedures.
    • oversees the execution of processes and evaluates quality goals to identify process improvements.
    • manages compliance and liability reports to reduce cargo delays and costs associated with non-compliance.
    • monitors processes for regulatory compliance.
    • responsible for managing service centers, working closely with agents and consignees (ocean & air, domestic and international)
    • responsible for working with carriers, freight systems, and driving operational process improvement.
    • coordinates air freight trade services, products, and operations.
    • works closely with sales and program management groups to grow revenue through cross-selling and expansion of existing client relationships.

    Key Competencies:

    • Degree or diploma in logistics and/or supply chain,
    • Minimum of 7 years’ experience in freight forwarding.
    • Minimum 5 years’ people management.
    • Advanced Excel, proficient in MS Office and overall computer literacy
    • Experience with labor relations
    • Experience negotiating with trucking carriers and international airlines
    • Experience with and knowledge of international trade lanes
