Basic nursing qualification with SANC registration which is a diploma/degree in nursing. Post basic qualification in ICU with a duration of at least 1 year. Minimum of 9 years appropriate recognisable experience in nursing after registration as a Professional nurse with SANC registration.
At least 5 years of the period referred to above must be appropriate experience after obtaining the one year post basic qualifications in the relevant specialty ICU. Diploma/degree in nursing administration registered with SANC is a requirement. Current registration with SANC. Computer literacy.
Duties :
Demonstrate in depth understanding of nursing legislation and related legal and ethical practice and how this impact on service delivery. Incumbent will be responsible for supervision and management of paediatric ward department in the hospital.
Adherence to the principles of nursing practice according to the scope practice, all quality assurance standards as well as set rules and standards of nursing in his/her area. Promotion of professionalism and leading by example all times. Promote quality of nursing care as directed by the office of the health standard compliance. Co-ordination of activities of other health team members. Will be part of the hospital management team.
Demonstration basic understanding of human resource and financial policies. Co-ordination of activities of health team members. Incumbent will be shift leader of the nursing team and relieving of the operational manager. Ensuring that all quality assurance standards and other mandates are implemented during his/her shift. Knowledge of nursing care process procedures Adhere to the code of conduct as required in the public service.
