Operational Manager Nursing Speciality Unit (PN-B3) (OBST & GYNAE)
Basic qualification accredited with South African Nursing Council in terms of Government Notice 425 i.e., Diploma / Degree in Nursing as a Professional nurse or equivalent qualification that allows registration with SANC as a Professional Nurse.
A post basic qualification in Health Services management/Nursing Administration registered with SANC.
A minimum of nine (9) years appropriate/recognizable experience in Nursing after registration as a Professional Nurse with the SANC in General Nursing.
At least five (5) years of the period referred to above must be appropriate/recognizable experience in a clinical specialty after obtaining the one (1) year post-basic qualification in Midwifery and Neonatal Nursing Science. Current registration with the South African Nursing Council.

leadership, ward management/ward administration, planning, organizing, co-ordination, and communication skills. Ability to take charge and make appropriate independent decisions. Duties :
Supervise and evaluate quality of nursing care as directed by Professional scope of practice and set Nursing standards within a professional /legal framework. Implement nursing legislation and related framework and ethical nursing practices.
Manage resources effectively and efficiently in the unit. Compile and analyse reports to improve quality of patient care.
Participate in training, research, and self-development. Be allocated to work night shifts, weekends, public holidays and relieve the supervisor when required.
Perform as an Operational Manager in accordance with the Scope of Practice Demonstrate effective communication with patients, supervisors and other health professionals and junior colleagues. Implementation of Ideal Hospital Framework.
