The Card Payment Services team is a dynamic, innovative team responsible for the rollout, onboarding and integration of card payment services to the MFS Africa network of connected partners that include mobile network operators, banks, money transfer organizations and merchants.
The Operations Analyst position is a key role that will ensure the smooth delivery of these services on a day-to-day basis. The successful candidate will be involved in activities such as inspecting settlement files, validating data, ensuring relevant parties are informed of payables in a timely manner, and optimizing service delivery processes.
The ideal candidate should be a self-motivated and energetic systems engineer who can think laterally and deploy their technical/operational ability to tackle and resolve unique problems in a clear, analytical manner. Knowledge of the mechanics of VISA/Mastercard payment networks and their settlement processes is a plus.
The Operations Analyst will report to the Program Manager, Card Payment Services, and will be part of the MFS Africa Product team. The position is location agnostic, and can based in any of the locations MFS Africa has presence: Port Louis, Mauritius; Johannesburg, South Africa; London, UK; Accra, Ghana; Kampala, Uganda or Nairobi, Kenya. The duties and responsibilities of the role will be as follows:
Support reconciliation and settlement processes on behalf of MFS Africa and its partners
Devise and validate accounting schemes & processes with an understanding of VISA/Mastercard settlement reports like VSS
Coordinate with multiple stakeholders during settlement, invoicing/billing activities
Function as a technical/operational escalation point from MFS Africa’s back-office around technical challenges experienced by MFS Africa’s partners
Use issue tracking tools to capture, monitor, diagnose and participate in the resolution of challenges experienced by MFS Africa’s partners
Assist in resolving queries raised by MFS Africa’s partners
Provide technical and operational support to partners using the MFS Africa card payment services
Perform any other tasks as reasonably assigned
Skills and Competencies

Qualifications and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, Electrical/Electronic Engineer or related ICT/Telecoms discipline
3 – 5 years of relevant experience
Experience in cards/payments industry including Visa/Mastercard settlement reports and methods
Basic understanding of API’s
Experience of using any card management platform like CAMS, Powercard etc.
Technical/operational support experience in financial/banking domain
Knowledge of PCI DSS, EMVCo advantageous
