Operations Manager - Durban at Yara International

Responsibilities

The Operations Manager takes overall accountability and responsibility to oversee and co-ordinate production & maintenance activities within the plan in order to achieve the business objectives in compliance with Yara safety and quality standards.  This role reports into the Plant Director.

• Drive and maintain operational discipline across the plant
• Align both production and maintenance priorities with operational requirements
• Sets operational priorities for all the production plants and optimize resources to achieve and fulfil the forecast demands
• Oversee and finalize preparation of annual business plan and departmental budgets 
• Ensure accurate reporting on Operational Performance on a monthly basis.
• Manage departmental and subordinate performance
• Ensure fulfilment of legal obligations/compliance as 16.2 appointee 
• Participate and offer support to operational projects from inception to implementation

Profile

• Minimum post graduate qualification in Operations or Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience working in a production plant environment at Senior Management level, with proven technical skills.
• Proven leadership record with strong communication skills
• A role model with regards to HESQ behavior
• Analytical and systematic approach to problem solving
• Planning & Organising skills
• Strong negotiation skills
• A change manager
