Requirements and Experience

• Diploma/Degree leading to a qualification as a Registered Nurse/Clinical Technologist:
• Independent Practice
• Post Basic Diploma in Nephrology will be advantageous
• Business qualifications or equivalent would be preferred
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in renal unit management
• Minimum experience of 5 years in a regional management role
• Proven track record in liaising with doctors, patients and staff
• Must be computer literate
• Must have a valid driver’s license and own a vehicle
• Must be able to travel

Key Performance Areas

• Responsible for the budget and effective and efficient management of all equipment, consumables, etc. in the region under your management.
• Ensure business growth in the region by conducting stakeholder analysis (demographics) as well as developing and maintaining VIP stakeholder relationships in the region.
• Ensure efficient running of the operation and business through real time solutions based on statistical analysis and that all customer complaints are dealt with effectively
• Ensure the continued education, training and development of the management team in your area and continuous medical education of the staff in your region. i.e. BSC, case studies, research.
• Keep abreast of new business and clinical trends as well as ensure the implementation of best practices in the region and elimination of bad practices (non – compliance or incorrect implementation of procedures)
• Ensure implementation of all national programs (Including Risk Management) in your region i.e. HR P&P’s, Payroll P&P’s, Financial P&P’s, OHS P&P’s, Procurement P&P’s, Technical P&P’s, projects, etc.
• Ensure effective planning for operational changes or growth in your region by determining operational capacity needed by the region to ensure that NRC meets future and changing demands for our services.
• Ensure that you are competent to be tested and certified by legitimate third parties. I.e.
• Accreditation by the Department of Health, HPCSA and academic institutions.
• Demonstrate the National Renal Care Values and Caring the NRC Way.
