Operations Manager - VKB Milling, Lydenburg at VKB Group

Job Description

• The Operational Manager will be responsible for the successful management of all the operational aspects of the Mill to ensure production and delivery targets are met and that the finished product meet the required quality standards as set by the company.

Requirements

• Grade 12/ NQF 4
• Relevant qualification in Production-/ Operational Management will serve as recommendation
• Proficiency in the MS Office package
• At least 8- 10 years’ experience within the milling environment
• Proven working knowledge of quality controls and processes within a mill

Duties and Responsibilities

• Effectively coordinate and manage the various departments in order to achieve agreed upon financial goals of the Mill (production, quality, marketing, finance and logistics)
• Ensure operational efficiency in both the Mill by effectively managing raw materials, stock, production scheduling and staff
• Successfully manage the operating income and expenses of the Mill on a continuous basis.
• Ensure compliance with VKB’s internal policies and procedures as well as any legislation pertaining to business unit.
• Oversee staff to ensure that policies and procedures within the Mill are compiled, reviewed and implemented
• Develop and implement control measures to mitigate risks and limit unnecessary costs or losses
• Continuous liaison with suppliers, clients and internal departments within the VKB group to maintain long term relationships
• Work closely with the marketing- and sales team to provide excellent service to clients
• Develop employees by identifying training needs and implementing training interventions to address those needs
• Stay abreast of relevant legislation, technologies, techniques and processes by attending workshops, seminars and training interventions
