Operations Standards Specialist at Astron Energy (Pty) Ltd.

Summary of Role

• The position is responsible for developing new and updating existing Terminal operating, inventory, fleet operating and maintenance standards (Standard Operating Procedures – SOP’s), as well as their deployment throughout to all Astron Energy terminals to reduce risk and improve reliability and efficiency. The position coordinates all training and all operational organisational capability activities for Logistics operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree (Technical area) or equivalent

Skills

• Terminal and Fleet operations experience (3 years minimum)
• Engineering capability
• Business writing proficiency
• Project/Program management experience
• Strong analytical thinking
• Strong influencing and communication skills
• Proficiency in MS Word, MS Excel, MS Power Point, Adobe

Resposibilities

• Develops new and updates existing Terminal operating, inventory, fleet operating and maintenance standards (Standard Operating Procedures – SOP’s), as well as their deployment throughout to all terminals to reduce risk and improve reliability and efficiency.
• Reviews requirements for site specific SOP’s and engages the relevant stakeholders.
• Responsible for maintaining the SOP repository with current SOP’s
• Develops and maintains all terminal operational checklists including those for high risk activities.
• Responsible for all operational training material and ensures that this material aligns to the SOP’s.
• Reviews SOP risk ranking aligned to operational risks.
• Engages stakeholders and subject matter experts on SOP development/changes.
• Provides support to terminals and business support teams on operational matters.
• Develops the Logistics operational Organisational Capability Plan aligned to the business objectives and focus areas as well as tracking execution on the plan.
• Coordinates all training and all operational organisational capability activities for Logistics.
• Prepares the monthly dashboards with the operational Organisational Capability KPI’s and presents to Logistics management.
• Develops and maintains all operational Organisational Capability databases and tools which include SOP Registers, operational teams Training Curriculum, operational teams Training Records, Competency Observations and other operational training courses
