Operator Gr I, Dump Truck X22 - Delmas at Exxaro Resources

PURPOSE:

•  To operate and control various types of mechanical equipment and machinery.
•  Continuously monitor performance against standards.
•  The following equipment is classified as Primary: Operator Gr I, 180 ton Operator Gr I, 994 Frond-end-Loader Operator Gr I, Demag Operator Gr I, Haultruck Operator Gr I, P and H Operator Gr I,190 ton Haultruck.

Minimum Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS:

•  Grade 12/Standard 10 English (Essential/Minimum)

EXPERIENCE: 

•  1-2 years Relevant job specific experience (Essential/Minimum)   Operational

REQUIREMENTS: 

•  Psychometric Assessment (Essential/Minimum)
•  Certificate of Fitness (Essential/Minimum)
•  Pub Driv Lic:Code EC1 ( Essential/Minimum )
•  Competence - Relevant Machine/Equipment (Essential/Minimum)

Duties & Responsibilities
Customer, Stakeholder and Client Relationship Management  

•  Render professional customer support services
•  Communicate with clients and direct superior to share information on duties performed

Equipment Operations and Control    

•  Operate and control various types of mechanical equipment and machinery
•  Continuously monitor performance against standards to identify any substandard performance and report to Supervisor
•  Adhere to all safety procedures and practices during operation
•  Contribute to cost savings by effective management of materials and resources by adhering to prescribed operational requirements

Inspection and Control    

•  Pre-shift inspection of machines/parts/components of production line
•  Inspect all vehicles before/after trip according to checklist and report any defects to mechanic
•  Clean all vehicles to set standards
•  Fill vehicles with petrol/diesel after every trip

Operational Support    

•  Complete handover routine before commencement of shift with current occupant
•  Report any constraints to direct supervisor
•  Record all vehicles not returned
•  Complete defect report if applicable and report to Supervisor

Safe and Healthy Work Environment    

•  Adhere to all health/safety practices and promote good housekeeping on an ongoing basis
•  Address all unsafe practices/potential hazardous situations, rectify/report to superior
•  Comply with Safety Health Environment and Community (SHEC) and technical requirements
•  Wear applicable Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) at all times

Technical Support    

•  Render support with ad hoc tasks
•  Assist production sections by operating mobile mining equipment
•  Assist production operators by operating applicable equipment
•  Do minor prescribed maintenance
•  Assist during planned maintenance/breakdown recovery

Transport Services    

•  Transport materials safely by means of assigned equipment
•  Collect all equipment and materials to arrive at the destination at the agreed location on the agreed time
•  Assist with preventative and breakdown maintenance
