Minimum of Grade 12 or equivalent qualification with no experience. Must be able to read and write. Good verbal and writing skills, sound communication. Interaction skills, ability to work in a team as well as working alone. Experience in a hospital environment will be an added advantage. Preference will be given to Pretoria West residents.
Duties :
Effective application of the sterilization process and techniques, promote/adhere to infection control practices, as well as health and safety regulations. Decontaminate, pack, and sterilize instruments and linen supplies.
Assist with maintaining, cleaning, and testing sterilization equipment, washing machines, autoclaves to ensure all equipment is in an optimum working condition. Using all resources/consumables cost-effectively. Monitor, control and maintain adequate stock levels, report and assist with investigations of broken equipment / lost items. Lifting and pushing heavy equipment.
Collect and deliver contaminated/sterile packs and any other documents from different units to CSSD, and vice versa. Perform all other duties delegated by Supervisor/Manager within scope of practice.
