Operator Rock Drill - Northam Development at Redpath Mining

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

• Matric certificate/ equivalent
• Rock Drill Operator Competency Certificate
• Competent B Certificate is a pre-requisite and Competent A is advantageous
• Medically fit
• Valid First Aid Certificate

EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS

• High knowledge of the usage of hydropower (aqua jet)
• Experience in inclined and horizontal development end
• At least 3 years’ experience in Conventional and trackless development
• Understanding and application of Health and Safety principles
• Knowledge of how to operate and inspect a handheld machine
• Good knowledge and Experience of trackless, conventional and Development operations
• SHE Compliance and participating in the early entry examination
• Ability to work independently, collaborator and critical thinking skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Ensure the safe and effective handling of all tools and equipment
• Responsible for good housekeeping in area of responsibility
• De-sludge/ Clean out holes on completion of drilling
• Pre-check list adherence and mid-shift risk assessment
• Reporting of breakdowns to the supervisor and engineering team
• Barring of hanging wall, sidewall, and face
