The role:

To ensure safe and cost-effective mining using primary mining equipment.

The duties will include but are not limited to:

• Receives instruction from foreman on area of operation for the day
• Obey safety and road rules always
• Perform pre-use inspection on vehicle and submit report to foreman
• Operate vehicle to dig tranches for water way
• Clean up rock spillages on roads
• Lifting of heavy pipes and other material as requested by the foreman
• Prepares the vehicle for next operator coming on duty and reports to foreman
• Adhere to defined standard procedures and apply safe work practices
• Report any defects to the Supervisor and control room

You will need:

• Grade 12 with Mathematics 
• Minimum of 1-year general working experience within a mining environment
• Valid code B driver’s license
• Ability to operate mining machinery and obtain pit / machine license
