Ops Specialist: Ancillary & Compliance at Telkom

Core Description    

• The incumbent is responsible to ensure Statutory and Legal compliance and safety of Network power installations in the Telkom ICT network and will be appoited by the Chief Executive Officer as "Competent Person Supervisor of Machinery" in terms of General Machinery Regulation 2 (7).

Job Responsibilities  

•  National responsibility to ensure that Telkom's power network is safe and complies to the General Machinery Regulation 2 (7). Provide highlevel support to Regions and make presentations to Management on new strategies.

Required Certification    

• Has passed the examination on the Act and the regulations held by the Commission of Examiners in terms of regulation E5 (2) of the regulations published under Government Notice R929 of 28June 1963
• Electrical Certificate of Compliance
• Lighting and emergency lighting
• Earthing, Lighting and Surge Protection systems
• AC, UPS and EPS systems
• Heating, Ventilation and Cooling

Qualifications  

•  Grade 12 & relevant modular training (NQF level 4) Subject Installation Rules (SANS 10142-1)

Experience  

•  7 Years in DC Power/ Facilities/ Ancillary Services environment which included the operation and/or maintenance of such machinery.
