Packaging Buyer (Northern Suburbs (Cape)) at Nurture Brands

Responsibilities: 

• Identify and evaluate potential suppliers for packaging materials (blister packs, bottles, cartons, etc.).
• Monitor stock levels and forecast future requirements with production and planning teams.
• Ensure all packaging materials meet the relevant GMP standards
• Collaborate with Quality Assurance and Regulatory Affairs to meet company quality standards.
• Evaluate and identify cost-saving opportunities while maintaining quality.
• Develop and maintain a database of approved packaging suppliers.
• Work closely with product development, production, and logistics to align packaging with production needs.
• Stay updated on packaging trends, technologies, and innovations in the pharmaceutical industry.
• Ensure staff are trained, equipped, and motivated through effective management processes.

Requirements

• Relevant Bachelor’s degree or certification (e.g., CIPS, APICS)
• 5 years procurement experience, focusing on packaging materials in the pharmaceutical, healthcare, or life sciences sectors.
• Strong understanding of pharmaceutical packaging regulations (GMP) and familiarity with various materials.
