Grade 1: Successful completion of Critical Care Assistant Programme (CCA) that allows registration with HPCSA as a Paramedic. Registration with HPCSA as a Paramedic. None after registration with HPCSA as Paramedic.
Grade 2: Successful Completion of the following courses or obtaining of the following qualification that allows registration with the HPCSA as a Paramedic: Critical Care Assistant (CCA Qualification) or recognized National Diploma. Registration with HPCSA as Paramedic with CCA or National Diploma. 7 years' experience after registration with HPCSA as Paramedic(CCA). None After registration with HPCSA as paramedic (National Diploma).
Grade 3: Successful Completion of the following courses or obtaining of the following qualification that allows registration with the HPCSA as a Paramedic: Critical Care Assistant (CCA Qualification) or recognized National Diploma or successful completion of BTech Degree that allows registration with HPCSA as an Emergency Care Practitioner(ECP). Registration with HPCSA as Paramedic (CCA OR NDip) or ECP. Registered Paramedic(CCA) -14 years' experience after registration with HPCSA as Paramedic. Registered Paramedic(NDip) - 7 years' experience after registration with HPCSA as Paramedic. Registered ECP's - None After registration with HPCSA as paramedic.
Grade 4: Successful Completion of the following courses or obtaining of the following qualification that allows registration with the HPCSA as a Paramedic: Critical Care Assistant (CCA Qualification) or recognized National Diploma or successful completion of BTech Degree that allows registration with HPCSA as an Emergency Care Practitioner(ECP). Registration with HPCSA as Paramedic (CCA OR NDip) or ECP. Registered Paramedic(CCA) -24 years' experience after registration with HPCSA as Paramedic. Registered Paramedic(NDip) - 17 years' experience after registration with HPCSA as Paramedic. Registered ECP's -10 years' experience After registration with HPCSA as an ECP. Knowledge of Advanced Life Support protocols within the Paramedic/ ECT scope of practice. A valid code 10 driver's licence with PDP.
