Learning to assemble hydraulic hoses as per customer requirements and to Caterpillar hose information system (HIS) specifications
Learning Caterpillar Contamination Control requirements and adhering to standards-ensure a safe and healthy work environment
Learning to maintain machinery and ensuring all machinery and tooling is in good working condition
Understanding how to calibrate machinery and tooling as per factory specification
Assisting with keeping of hose assembly register updated
Ensure that work arears are maintained, clean and hazard free at all times
Building sustainable relationship with the customer and team members
Ensures a no-fault audit report for area of responsibility
Ensure a safe and healthy work environment which conform to contamination control standards, report incidents.
Ensure compliance to corporate governance standards
Ensure stock accuracy
Conform to standard processes and procedures
Report warehouse equipment not in full working condition (i.e. cameras, access control, hose making equipment etc.)
Ensure company assets are only used for intended purposes, kept clean and report any defects immediately
Comply to transport leading schedules when loading vehicles
Prepare and complete orders for delivery or collection according to customer requirements (load, pack, wrap, label, ship)
Receive and bin new stock (Pick, unload, label, store)
Keep a clean and safe working environment and optimise space utilisation
Report any stock discrepancies
Communicate and cooperate with Hose Assembler and co-workers
Operate and maintain vehicles and equipment Follow quality service standards and comply with procedures, rules and regulations
Assist with processing and filling Customer Orders and deliver completed Hose Assemblies to end users
Qualification, Experience and Competencies
Minimum required qualifications – Grade 12 with at least 4 years proven working experience as a warehouse / store’s worker
Basic understanding in inventory controls
SAP system and MS Office
Familiarity with modern warehousing practices and methods
Good organisational and time management skills
Ability to lift heavy objects
Current forklift licence
Valid Driver’s Licence
Ability to operate power tools, hand tools and machinery
Minimum required competencies: Attention to detail – Verbal and written communication (Including listening) – Applied Business Numeracy – Rule Orientation – Ethical behaviour – Stress Tolerance and Resilience - Teamwork – Mechanical Reasoning
Communication – interact with workshop, field service and other related employees – engage with warehouse employees in the picking of hoses and couplings – Engage with hose specialist on assembly procedures and processes.
