Grade 12 with Bachelor of Physiotherapy/Bachelor of Science in Physiotherapy or appropriate qualification that allows registration with the Health Professional Council of South Africa (HPCSA) as an independent Physiotherapist.
Proof of current HPCSA registration is required. Computer literacy is essential. Excellent time management skills, written, verbal communication and report writing.
Effective interpersonal communication skills. Honesty, integrity and good work ethic. Ability to work productively in a multidisciplinary environment and apply sound clinical reasoning. Ability to work independently. Knowledge of public service legislature, policies and procedures.
Duties :
Assessment and treatment of in-patient and outpatient, and engagement with multidisciplinary team in adherence to scope of practice. Assist in the department administrative activities, quality assurance and evidence based programs. Contribute positively towards the development and growth of the Physiotherapy department. Adherence to PMDS processes.
Provide mentorship and guidance to Community Service Physiotherapists and perform clinical supervision of Physiotherapy students. Participate in professional departments activities e.g. CPD, in-service training etc. Participate in stock management of equipment, assistive devices and consumables. Adherence to all prescribed policies and protocols of the department. The candidate should be willing to rotate in various areas related to physiotherapy as per the need of the department.
