    Personal Lines Motor Pricing Actuarial Analyst

    Duties and Responsibilities:

    The successful candidate will form part of the personal lines motor pricing and product development team. The main responsibility of the candidate will be to build and improve pricing models to achieve set business targets.

    This includes, but is not limited to:

    • Building and implementing pricing models using actuarial pricing techniques which includes data preparation, risk factor identification, applying different modelling techniques including Generalised Linear Models, documentation of modelling process and system implementation
    • Understanding the different data sources and the value of the input data provided
    • Using statistical models to find appropriate solutions for business problems across the company
    • Monitoring loss ratios and other key performance indicators to identify opportunities to improve pricing models and/or product design features
    • Developing and designing new products to enhance the product offering to clients
    • Presenting results to senior management and other stakeholders

    Personal Requirements:

    • Must have a passion for working with numbers and analysing data
    • Enjoy finding unique solutions to problems and implementing these solutions
    • Be able to communicate effectively with a wide variety of stakeholders
    • Should have a strong affinity towards coding and designing robust solutions
    • Must be a self-starter who can successfully manage several different tasks simultaneously
    • Apply attention to detail

    Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

    • Honours Degree in Actuarial Science
    • Successfully completed or in progress of completing the Foundation & Intermediate Technical actuarial examinations (A1 & A2)
    • Preferably also completed or in progress of completing the Actuarial Risk Management exam (A3)
    • 0-3 years’ experience in a short term actuarial analytics role or motor pricing role.
    • Ideally have experience in SQL and/or C#
    • Good academic track record
    • Solid interpersonal skills to work effectively alongside a variety of different stakeholders
