Qualification that allows Registration with the South African Pharmacy Council as a Basic Pharmacist Assistant. Currently registered with south African pharmacy council of annual fee payment.
Communication and interpersonal skills. Basic knowledge of pharmaceutical processes, knowledge of relevant legislation and policies, record keeping and basic knowledge of drug supply management. Work effectively as part of a team.
Duties :
Appropriate management and inventory control of pharmaceutical items. Assist with ordering, receiving and distribution of pharmaceuticals products in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures.
Monitoring of pharmaceutical products using FEFO and FIFO principles to avert medicine expiry. Implement the standard operating procedure, good pharmacy practice, norms, and standards. Assist in general housekeeping and administration tasks in the pharmacy as specified by the Responsible Pharmacist or supervising pharmacist.
Pre-packing of medicine in accordance to Standard Operating Procedures. Collecting of information and assisting in the preparation of prescriptions. Complete and maintain documentation. Advise and support patients and other health care professionals on pharmaceutical matters
