Pharmacist Assistant (Post basic) qualification or equivalent that allows registration with South African Pharmacy Council (SAPC) as Pharmacist Assistant (Post basic). Current proof of annual fee payment.
Detailed CV and a valid driver’s license. Basic knowledge of pharmaceutical processes, knowledge of relevant legislations and policies, record keeping and basic knowledge of drug supply management.
Work effectively as part of the team. Computer Literacy, basic calculation skills, basic communication and interpersonal skills. High level of personal integrity, passion, and commitment to the profession. Excellent communication. Experience in Rx and SVS will be an added advantage. Flexibility in being allocated to any of the facilities in Johannesburg Health District.
Duties :
The incumbent will work under indirect supervision of the Pharmacist. Provision of instructions and information regarding the correct use of medicine to patients. Assist with the re-packaging of medicine, according to standard operating procedure approved by the responsible Pharmacist. Assist in management and inventory control of pharmaceutical items.
Ordering, receiving and distribution of pharmaceuticals products. Distribution of pharmaceuticals to consultation rooms and other outlets. Monitor Pharmaceutical products using FEFO and FIFO principles to avert medicine expiry.
Implement the standard operating procedure, good pharmacy practice, norms, and standards. Manage general housekeeping and administration tasks in the pharmacy as specified by the Responsible Pharmacist or supervising pharmacist. Manage weekly stock monitoring and reporting.
