    Pharmacist Assistant -QPB - UPD Port Elizabeth

    Introduction

    • We are looking to recruit a permanent Pharmacist Assistant QPB to work for United Pharmaceutical Distributors (UPD). The role will be based at UPD Port Elizabeth branch and will report to the Responsible Pharmacist.

    Job description

    Job Purpose:

    • To support the Responsible Pharmacist and Wholesale Pharmacist in ensuring compliance to guidelines, regulations, principles and codes, administration, credit returns, stock checking and stock control.
    • To ensure that orders are correctly, accurately and timeously picked and packed in terms of UPD’s SOP and FEEFO principles within applicable service level requirement.

    Job Objectives:

    • To support the Pharmacist in ensuring compliance with respect to GWP/GDP/GMP and train/assess personnel on the SOP’s where required.
    • To perform the picking and packing of Specified Schedule 5 and Schedule 6 orders.
    • To perform and assist in stock takes and cycle counts/bin checks on Specified Schedule 5 and Schedule 6 products.
    • To ensure that customer orders are processsed correctly, accurately and timeously picked and packed according to SOP. Ensure that the batch number and expiry date as per the customer's invoice is correct.
    • To ensure that customer complaints are receipted timeously, investigated and handled in terms of reporting and follow up with suppliers.
    • To ensure that, where necessary, requiremenrs for re-training and discipline are identified and the Pharmacist is advised to ensure implementation.
    • To ensure the credit returns are processed by doing the Quality Control (QC) inspections and ensuring that SLA timelines are met
    • To assist staff working in the Schedule 5 area when required.
    • To assist the Pharmacist with validation and temperature mapping qualification and to conduct weekly testing of the temperature alarm probes.
    • To assist the Pharmacist with customer and supplier validation and verification and mantain the spreadsheet on a weekly/ monthly basis.
    • To ensure high standards of house-keeping and cleanliness by assisting the Pharmacist with processing stock for destruction.
    • To conduct monthly self-inspection audits and assist the Pharmacist with Quality, Regulatory and Compliance audits.
    • To assist with documenting and investigating of Deviations, identifying the root cause and propose Corrective and Preventive Actions.
    • To ensure Batch Recalls are executed and support Pharmacist as required.
    • To assist Pharmacist, where required, in ensuring that there are sufficient measures in place for the maintenance of cold chain process.
    • To ensure that QA checks are done on all QA documents on a weekly/ monthly basis.
    • To be involved in bi-annual Stock takes.

    Minimum requirements

    Qualification & Experience:

    • Qualified Post Basic Pharmacist Assistant
    • Registration with SAPC
    • 2 Years experience in the Pharmaceutical industry
