Pharmacy Assistant at BroadReach

Purpose of the position
To support the implementation of pharmaceutical activities in primary health care facilities and community health centres to meet the 90-90-90- targets by ensuring that facilities are compliant with basic Pharmacy Principles, implementation and maintenance of stock visibility solution and alternative distribution models.

Key Accountabilities (included but not limited to)
In Your Role As Pharmacy Assistant You Will

• Provide mentorship and support to ensure that adequate levels of stock are available at all times
• Ensure compliance with good pharmacy practice
• Maintenance of stock visibility solution (SVS) and RX Solutions
• Implementation of Repeat Prescription Collections (RPC) in supported facilities
• Support the retention of accurate and updated records on pharmacy activity & decanting
• Perform duties of Pharmacist Assistant such as drug supply management in line with Scope of Practice Receiving and Issuing of Patient Medicine packs for CCMDD
• Tracking and Collecting of uncollected parcels
• Conducting M&E assessments at existing PUPS

 

Qualifications
Essential qualifications

• Standard 10 (Grade 12) / N3 or equivalent and 1-year certification in office administration.
• Registered as post Basic Pharmacy Assistant with SAPC qualification

 

Desirable

• Drivers licence

 

Experience & Skills

• Minimum 1-2 years (PA) post basic certification
• Computer literate
• Basic Knowledge and experience on pharmaceutical speciality
• Microsoft Office (specific EXCEL intermediate and Outlook)
• Report Writing Skills added advantage
• Exceptional Communication skills with good temperament
• Experience on HIV/AIDS treatment regimen and adherence issues
• Understanding of ART, TB and general medication
• Good knowledge of antiretroviral therapy, TB and chronic medication
• Excellent communication & interpersonal skills
• Be able to work under pressure & independent
