Matric or equivalent. BSc degree in Physiotherapy or appropriate qualification that allows registration with the Health Professional Council of South Africa as a Physiotherapist.
Grade1 requires no experience, Grade 2 requires 10 years minimal experience and Grade 3 requires 20 years minimum experience after registering with HPCSA as an independent Physiotherapist.
Should have sound interpersonal skills and communication skills. Should also have computer literacy skills. Ability to work in a multidisciplinary environment. Ability to work under pressure. Previous experience in rehabilitation will be an added advantage. Applicant should be prepared to undergo medical surveillance.
Duties :
Assessment and treatment of inpatients and outpatients and external stakeholders in adherence with the physiotherapy scope of practice. Assist in the departmental administrative activities, quality assurance and evidence based programs.
Knowledge of basic legislative frameworks in relation to physiotherapy. Contribute positively towards the development and growth of the physiotherapy department. Perform clinical supervision of physiotherapy students. Participate in professional departmental programs.
Should be willing to rotate in all physiotherapy sectional units and perform overtime duties over weekends. Problem solving, stress tolerance, self-confidence, objectiveness, and empathy. Acquaintance with standard operating procedures. Work effectively as part of a team.
