Job Advert Summary    

• The main purpose of a Picker is to accurately select and prepare stock for dispatch within a warehouse or distribution environment. This includes locating products, ensuring correct quantities and item details, and completing orders on time and in full. The role involves operating material-handling equipment, performing manual picking where required, and following all safety and handling procedures. Pickers scan and record stock movement, report discrepancies, and maintain an organised work area. Accuracy and efficiency in this role are essential for supporting smooth warehouse operations and ensuring customer satisfaction.

Minimum Requirements    
Qualifications:

• Matric (Grade 12)

Experience:

• 1–2 years’ experience in a similar role

Skills & General Requirements:

• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to follow procedures and work accurately
• Ability to work shifts, including weekends and night shifts
• Able to work in a cold environment

Equipment Operation:

• Operation of a motorised pallet jack (1.5-ton capacity)
• Ability to manoeuvre and control motorised equipment
• Valid licence to operate a motorised pallet jack

Physical Requirements:

• Able to meet the physical demands of handling the pallet jack (loaded and unloaded)
• Manual loose case picking (±4 kg per box)

Duties and Responsibilities    

• Accurate picking, packing, and presentation of stock
• Operating scanners and recording stock movement
• Receiving, sorting, labelling, and stock reconciliation
• Ensuring stock accuracy and maintaining a neat, organised work area
• Supporting efficient dispatch processes through accurate order fulfilment
