Planner: Production at RCL Foods

The Role

RCL FOODS is seeking a Production Planner to join our Foods Division. The role will be based in Pongola and report to the Sales & Operations Manager. RCL FOODS is looking for an individual that is self driven, detailed orientated and can successfully lead a team. The primary objective is to ensure that all packed production through Checkpoint Charlie is counted, captured into SAP and conforms to the required Quality Standards.

Minimum Requirements:

• Grade 12 with mathematics and/or Accounting;
• SAP conversant will be essential for person performing this role;
• Must be computer literate (MS Office, with special focus on excel);
• Working knowledge of ISO9001: 2000 and health and safety management systems;
• Qualifications in Business Management, Operations Management, Supply Chain & Logistics, Accounting, or Engineering will be an added advantage;
• Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills;
• Exposure to Food Quality & Safety, Planning, Industrial Engineering, Packing & Operations will be an added advantage;

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Overseeing day to day administrative functions for the S&OP team at Pongola;
• Synchronise packaging production and stock levels in a Production schedule according to local market demand;
• S&OP Interaction with Production Team and Co-ordinate the procurement of the packaging materials to ensure availability for packaging requirements to influence actions - Facilitate daily packing plans with Packing Manager at Pongola;
• Do monthly stock takes, capture counted quantities in SAP and do the necessary adjustments.
• Setup and maintain Product codes, descriptions, configurations, barcodes and authorisations of shift clerks and CPC Scanners on the CPC system.
• Create production orders on SAP according to the weekly production planning.
• Check reconciliation between scale readings and sugar movement quantities captured in SAP.
• Ensure all activities are compliant with the RCL FOODS SHEQ standards and legislation.
