    Plant Manager: Admin and Finance

    This role is for only those based in Durban, 

    Forty years on, the hugely successful MELKi Group comprises of Property Development, Construction and Mining. MELKi Construction is the civils arm of the company and has completed approx. R608 million worth of civil infrastructure projects. As civil engineering contractors, MELKi is positioned to deliver:

    • Plant Hire
    • Civils Work – Road, Earthworks, and Infrastructure Development
    • Aggregates crushed and screened material supply.

    The plant manager is an integral part of the executive team, which is responsible for the performance of the Plant Hire division. The plant manager is responsible for managing all the financial and administrative components of the business.

     

    Minimum requirements

    • Diploma/ Degree in Finance and Administration is a prerequisite
    • Road Transport Management Diploma is an advantage
    • A minimum of 6 to 10 years’ experience in the Admin and Finance of the Plant Hire Industry
    • General Computer literate to at least intermediate level (Windows, MS Word, Excel)
    • Pastel Accounting

    • Ability to converse well in English
    • Ability to communicate with staff and executives.
    • Ability to work under pressure, multitask and prioritize
    • Problem-solving skills
    • Excellent time management and organizational skills
    • Attention to detail and high level of accuracy

     

    The Financial Deliverables comprise of the following:

    • Cashbook processing
    • Invoicing and Debtors Maintenance
    • Supervise all creditors processing and approve Monthly Creditors Recons
    • Oversee Plant Petty Cash
    • Review Credit card recons
    • Prepare Budgets for the Plant Division
    • Prepare Management Accounts for the Plant Division
    • Play an integral part in the administrative performance of the company by managing and taking responsibility of the division by providing an overview of the administrative function

     

    The Operational-Administrative Deliverables comprise of the following: 

    • Maintaining licensing, Tracker, and Insurance records
    • Controlling and Reconciling Diesel usage
    • Revenue Control (PH Rates Maintenance)
    • Asset Register Maintenance (Recording Sale and Purchase of Plant)
    • Maintain Control and record-keeping of Operators and Drivers
    • Review Timesheets and Salary Schedules with Payroll
    • Maintain control of the credit cards and its users
    • Communication and monitor breakdowns and costs
    • Required to move between various Plant Hire Sites
