    Port Inventory Controller - Johannesburg

    Purpose of the role:

    Oversee the inventory of bags and Stock flows in all African port Warehouse, ensuring accurate and on time stock levels.

    Duties and Responsibilities:

    Stock Control 

    • Manage the Control all Stock arrivals and dispatches at all African port Warehouses.
    • Ensure all details are updated on the Software System accurately and on time.
    • Follow up on the Tracking report that identifies trucks offloaded and ensure Good Received advise has been received for updating on the system.
    • Ensure all bags are retired on the system timeously.
    • Ensure all stock is moved on a FIFO basis.

    Data Analysis and Reporting

    • Maintaining accurate records of inventory levels, transactions, and product information
    • On time reporting of all Stock Levels, including Stock in Receiving and dispatch Holding areas.
    • Identify any stock inconsistencies by matching the Warehouse data with our own data.
    • Analyse all data on the company’s Inhouse Software system for accuracy.
    • Ensure warehouses record all stock received against the correct Buyer.

    Tracking and retiring of all Vehicles 

    • Follow up on any vehicles that are delayed to the warehouse based on the normal transit time 
    • Closs off tracking on the Software system, once confirmed receipted into Port warehouse

    Effective Communication and Collaboration 

    • Build and maintain relationships with a  LSP's, and Buyers
    • Provide guidance to all Logistics Service providers on any failings and ensure they understand the importance of timeous data accuracy.
    • Assist and support colleagues, fostering a collaborative and cooperative team culture.

    Experience required: 

    • Minimum Qualification - Advanced higher certificate is preferred 
    • Excellent computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Excel
    • 2-3 years of experience in logistics, warehouse management, or inventory control.
    • Proven track record in effectively managing and controlling inventory within a warehouse or logistics setting.
    • Experience in Commodity Stock Control is an advantage.
    • Demonstrated ability to analyze data.

    • Must be able to liaise confidently and establish excellent working relationships.
    • Good Communication skills and able to communicate with different cultures.
    • Ability to identify risks and improvements.
    • Dynamic self-starter that doesn’t need to be told what to do and how to do it and comfortable working independently and equally within a team.
    • Operate in a collaborative manner and focus on Output, not Input.
    • Excellent attention to detail and handle pressure.
    • To be energetic with good follow through skills.
