Minimum grade 10 or equivalent or abet level 4 qualification. Ability to read and write. 0-2yrs appropriate experience as a Porter in Health facility / Environment will be an added advantage.

Duties :
Transport patients from registration points to different clinical areas within the Hospital Transport corpses from wards to mortuary. Offloading of patients from Ambulance and private cars to stretchers or wheelchair.
Cleaning of stretchers and wheelchairs after usage at all times. Complete ambulance form and enter patients’ data on porters register at emergency area and hand over form to Registry Clerk.
Correct contact details of patient brought by ambulance to be recorded in the register. Ensure availability / readiness of patient trolleys and wheelchairs for ambulance and private vehicles.
Porters should always be on standby to provide services requested by other component. Patients should be treated with dignity and respect. Ensure that enough clean linen is kept safe in Porters Department daily. Ensure that soiled linen is sorted daily.
