Porter’s experience will be an added advantage. Must be prepared to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays. Rotate in different wards/ units. Good interpersonal and Communication skills. Understanding of Batho-Pele principles, occupational health, and safety act.
Duties :
Escort/accompany patients to various sections of the hospital. Use wheelchairs and stretchers to move patients from one point to other. Load and offload patients from private vehicles.
Render assistance to nursing, medical and allied staff. Collect corpses ward to mortuary and issue corpses to relatives and undertakers. Collect and clean wheelchairs and stretchers to make them ready to be used.
Move patients documents from one section to another. Report mortuary statistics to the supervisor/manager when requested. Record mortuary temperature daily. Perform any work within their scope as requested by supervisor.
