Post Financial Close Transactor at SolarAfrica Energy Pty Ltd

Position of the job in the organisation: 

• The successful candidate will report directly to the Head of Fundraising. 

Principal responsibilities:

• Oversee and report on all contractual, regulatory, and financial obligations post-financial close.
• Ensure compliance with project finance agreements, shareholder agreements, and lender requirements.
• Identify and mitigate potential risks to prevent financial and contractual defaults.
• Oversee project performance during construction and operational phases.
• Identify financial, legal, and operational risks, implementing management approved mitigation strategies together with the respective teams to ensure project success.
• Work closely with project managers, legal teams, and finance teams to resolve potential issues proactively.
• Prepare and submit lender reports in strict adherence to financing agreements.
• Monitor and enforce compliance with financial covenants and reporting requirements.
• Act as the primary liaison between lenders, investors, and internal teams to address compliance matters.
• Collaborate with finance teams to ensure accurate reconciliations and financial reporting.
• Provide detailed financial insights to support strategic decision-making and maintain transparency.
• Support external audits and ensure timely resolution of financial discrepancies.
• Work closely with project teams, legal counsel, and senior management to ensure compliance and financial stability.
• Facilitate clear, concise communication between stakeholders, ensuring alignment on financial and contractual obligations.
• Negotiate and resolve contractual disputes while maintaining positive relationships with all parties.
• Assist in fulfilling and monitoring compliance with CSs and CPs required for financial close.
• Ensure legal and financial documentation is accurately maintained and submitted in a timely manner.

PERSON DESCRIPTION

Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Law, Accounting, Economics, or Project Management. A postgraduate qualification (e.g., LLB, CFA, MBA, PMP) is advantageous.
• Minimum 5+ years’ experience in project finance, infrastructure finance, legal advisory, or financial transactions.
• Strong understanding of renewable energy, infrastructure, and related sectors.
• Experience with contract law, regulatory compliance, and risk management to mitigate defaults.
• Ability to coordinate across multiple teams and ensure timely execution of financial obligations.
• Strong knowledge of financial modelling, loan agreements, and covenant compliance.
• Familiarity with South African financial regulations and renewable energy policies.
• Ability to convey complex financial and legal concepts clearly to stakeholders.
• Valid driver's license and willing to travel
