    PPM Lead

    • The Key Purpose of this role is to have full responsibility for the planning, reporting, and control cycle of Supply budgets for the plant, including Variable Industrial Costs (VIC), Fixed Industrial Costs (FIC), Zero-Based Budgeting (ZBB), Capital Expenditure (CAPEX), People costs, and Internal Controls, on a monthly, quarterly, and year-end basis.

    Key Roles and Responsibilities:

    Annual Planning & Budgeting

    • Adhere to all deadlines, milestones, and submission requirements set by the Zone Supply PPM team.
    • Review all budget calculations for Operating Performance Controls (OPCs) and Bills of Materials (BOMs), owning the end-to-end process.
    • Lead the Zero-Based Budgeting (ZBB) process for the plant, ensuring adherence to all guidelines, templates, and timelines.
    • Support the completion of the CAPEX budget as required.
    • Lead headcount and pay-cost planning for the plant.
    • Ensure all champion initiatives are fully embedded in the budget while avoiding double counting.
    • Prepare management review presentations for Zone leadership, in line with required guidelines, templates, and timelines.
    • Ensure final budgets are accurately uploaded into all relevant systems (Cognos, SCFD, SAP, TM1).
    • Provide accurate bottom-up VIC standards and actuals for MACO reporting.

    Monthly Reporting, Forecasting & Performance Management

    • Prepare and manage the full-year forecast outlook (Latest Estimate – LE) for the plant.
    • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in financial and operational results.
    • Identify risks, determine root causes, and define gap-closing action plans.
    • Consolidate and report LE monthly to the Zone Supply PPM team.
    • Review new Product Cost Estimates (PCEs) and BOMs monthly, as required.
    • Review the plant Profit and Loss statement and validate the accuracy of reported results, ensuring no material misstatements.
    • Review headcount and pay-cost reporting on a monthly basis.
    • Lead the completion and presentation of the monthly plant Time & Money (T&M) deck together with the Plant Manager.
    • Monitor alignment between Budget, CAPEX, and ZBB performance.
    • Manage monthly and year-end closing activities for Supply, including validation of accruals.
    • Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting in line with approved policies and procedures.
    • Manage the relationship with the Network of Capability Centre (NoCC) for outsourced activities.

    Operational Efficiency & Supply Performance

    • Track operational performance targets to achieve World Class Excellence, including metrics such as DBCM, by-product income, and packaging and malting losses.
    • Assess Supply operational efficiency and identify initiatives to optimize performance.
    • Lead action plans to close performance gaps against the Three-Year Plan, Budget, LE, and global benchmarks.
    • Execute management reporting to enable best-in-class operational performance management.
    • Review and manage fixed asset performance and lifecycle.
    • Ensure effective tax compliance at plant level.

    Ad Hoc Analysis, Projects & Strategic Support

    • Provide recommendations to support senior management decision-making.
    • Manage and participate in ad hoc projects as required.
    • Challenge and monitor capacity utilization and footprint strategy where applicable.
    • Perform detailed cost analyses to identify plant-level savings opportunities.
    • Participate actively in Zone benchmarking activities.
    • Conduct strategic studies to streamline and optimize business operations.
    • Ensure consistent application of definitions and reporting standards across functions.
    • Mediate on behalf of Supply PPM on plant performance (P&L) issues or cross-functional conflicts.
    • Act as the Single Point of Contact (SPOC) for Supply towards the Plant.

    Governance, Controls & Compliance

    • Maintain an effective financial control environment at plant level, including:
    • Fixed asset verification
    • Inventory control effectiveness
    • Stock counts
    • Facilitate and support SARS audits as required.

    Minimum Requirements:

    • Honours Degree in Accounting.
    • MBA, CIMA, or CA(SA) qualification would be advantageous.
    • Minimum of three years’ experience in a finance role within a manufacturing environment.
    • Experience in product costing.
    • Knowledge of financial reporting and general accounting practices.
    • Experience with consolidation principles and methodologies.
    • Project management, problem assessment, and problem-solving experience.
    • Experience working in an ERP-driven, process-oriented organization.

    Technical Competencies

    • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
    • Good working knowledge of consolidation and reporting tools (Cognos, TM1, BI).
    • Knowledge of ERP systems, including SAP R/3 (FI/CO modules) and SAP BW.
