    Pricing Director

    PURPOSE OF POSITION

    The Pricing Director will be responsible for developing and executing pricing strategies across all product lines that support the company’s overall business objectives. This role will work closely with the sales, marketing, and finance teams to develop and implement pricing plans that maximize revenue and profitability. It will also be responsible for conducting regular price audits and analysis to ensure that the company’s prices are competitive and in line with the strategic objectives. The ideal candidate for this position will have extensive experience in pricing, strategic planning, financial and data analysis.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Develop and implement pricing strategies in alignment with organizational objectives.
    • Conduct market research and analysis to identify opportunities and optimize pricing.
    • Monitor competitor activity and adjust pricing accordingly to maintain a competitive edge.
    • Manage price changes and promotions, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of all communications.
    • Work with cross-functional teams to develop and launch new products, services, and pricing models.
    • Oversee the development and maintenance of pricing databases.
    • Analyse customer buying behavior and trends to inform pricing decisions.
    • Prepare detailed reports on pricing strategies and their impact on sales and profitability.
    • Train and mentor team members on pricing concepts and best practices
    • Stay up to date on industry trends and developments.
    • Participate in industry events and networking opportunities.
    • Serve as a subject matter expert on pricing for the organization.

    DELEGATION OF AUTHORITY

    The associate has the authorisation to work within the framework of the actual Delegation of Authorities (DOA).

    MEASURES OF PERFORMANCE (INDICATORS)

    Leading -

    95% On-time update of pricing tool within 30 days of pricing notifications.

    Core OMX targets are met and maintained.

    Lagging -

    95% On-time delivery of price lists and uploading to quoting tool

    95% On-time delivery of contract price updates.

    95% inclusion of all products on relevant price lists as required.

    PERSONAL QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

    Required            

    Education/achievements   

    • Bachelor’s degree in business, economics, or related field             

    Preferred

    • MBA or other advanced degree

    Experience/Knowledge        

    Required 

    • 10+ years of experience in pricing, with at least 5 years in a leadership role
    • Proven track record of developing and implementing successful pricing strategies
    • Knowledge of technology, software solutions and engineered products 

    Preferred

    • Working knowledge of SQL
    • Experience with SaaS pricing models
