Creditors Clerk (Overseas Accounts) - Greenstone at Bidvest International Logistics

Qualifications:

• Matric/Grade 12 certificate essential.
• Tertiary qualification in Finance field will be advantageous.

Experience:

• 2 years disbursement reconciliations/Accounts Payable.
• Foreign currency conversion experience.

Key Responsibilities for this role:

• Ensure timeous payments are made to service providers
• Ensure all supplier queries are resolved timeously.

Main acitivities for this role:

• Controlling foreign creditors disbursement accounts.
• Reconciliation of invoices to creditors statements.
• Liaison with creditors in respect of queries.
• Preparing payment advices.
• Batching creditors invoices with sales and printouts for data capturing.
• Reconciliation and balancing of disbursement reconciliations to the general ledger/Accounts Payable.
• Follow up with client controllers on a regular basis for recovery details of supplier invoices to be paid.
• Extracting relevant reports from Cargowise as and when required.
• Capturing of data and invoices.

Skills & Competencies

Knowledge:

• Freight experience & terminology would be advantageous.
• Knowledge of Accounting principles and how to accurately apply them.
• Knowledge of the Import/Export Industry.
• Knowledge of the foreign exchange market.
• Knowledge of CargoWise would be an advantage.

Skills:

• Must be MS Excel literate at an intermediate level.
• Knowledge of CargoWise would be an advantage.
• Must be highly numerate.
• Must be able to communicate effectively verbally and in writing to 3rd parties.
• Must be able to complete tasks accurately and promptly.
• Must be able to meet tight deadlines.
• Effective problem solving skills.
