Principal Inspector: Dog Unit at Swartland Local Municipality

Salary: R 356 340 – R 462 540 (T-11 of a Category 4 Local Authority)

Requirements:

• Trained as a narcotic dog handler
• Computer literate
• Good communication & interpersonal skills
• Conflict management
• Negotiating skills

Qualification:

• Grade 12; and
• Basic training qualification;
• Code EB drivers’ licence;
• No criminal record; and
• Firearm proficiency

Experience: 5 - 8 years’ relevant experience required of which 2 - 3 years’ must be supervisory experience.
Job Purpose:

• To supervise and manage shifts in order to render a professional and effective K9 service by ensuring effective execution of all actions, operations and interventions related to crime prevention, road policing and by-law enforcement.
• Through the use of a Special Operational K9 service in order to extend and support the Swartland Municipality in operations, activities and interventions.
