• Senior Artisan (dry trade) Trade Certificate in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering at NQF4 with 120 credits.

Related Minimum Experience:

• 3 years Practical experience in a technical environment, power distribution.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform specialised maintenance, construction, installation and repairs.

Cables:

• Maintaining high voltage oil cable pressure and installing cables.
• Ensure compliance with safety, health, environment and quality standards by:
• Using personal protective equipment as required and maintaining it in a serviceable condition.
• Inspecting material, machinery and tools prior tuse.
• Setting up a safe work area by barricading, demarcating or screening.
• Ensuring materials and objects are supported in safe positions during work execution.
• Handling and using materials and machinery in a safe manner.
• Disposing waste, scrap and cleaning up hazardous chemical spills in the required manner.
• Conducting tail gate talks prior tcommencing tasks.
• Conducting hazards identification and risk assessment prior tand during work execution.
• Participating in monthly safety meetings as a health and safety representative on appointment.
• Reporting unsafe acts and conditions.
• Attending trisks in the work area on a continuous basis.
• Adhering tstatutory and non-statutory requirements.
• Performing periodic inspections on tools as per Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA) requirements.
