Process Automation Engineer at Schneider Electric

Your Role – Magic happens when you bring great people together!

• Serve as the technical focal point for clients in South Africa and internationally, for both onshore and offshore assets.
• Provide remote support for projects in other Sub-Saharan Africa countries.
• Conduct site surveys and provide detailed reports and updates for installed bases.
• Support the growth of Projects and Services in Sub-Saharan Africa by assisting sales efforts and acting as the engineering focal point.
• Participate in factory and site acceptance testing and deliver site installations for both local and regional projects.
• Be an active member of the “24-hour telephone support” team, eventually supporting multiple countries.
• In the long term, assist in recruiting and developing new engineering resources in South Africa to meet evolving business needs.

Qualifications

What qualifications will make you successful in this role?

• We are looking for engineering graduates who strive to build a career in Automation & Control Systems and MUST have the following minimum requirements:
• Be available to travel/work internationally across Africa for extended periods.
• Minimum Engineering Degree (Electrical / Electronics / Control Systems / Instrumentation) or other accepted but with proven relevant Automation experience.
• Demonstrated 1-3 years working for major DCS or PLC/SCADA vendor or end user in industrial software and / or control and automation capacity.
• Excellent proven computing knowledge and MS Office application.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills (English).
• Valid driving licence for South Africa.
• South African citizenship
