Process Controller - Estcourt at Nestle

A day in the life of a Process Controller:

• Ensures that good manufacturing practices are adhered to regarding CIP and product handling.                                                 
• Standardizes batches in the most economical way to ensure first time right, good quality finished products.                                              
• Control raw materials and the efficient usage of it including traceability and variances on raw materials.                                                  
• Ensure that rework is controlled in terms of quantity and quality before adding to the new batch.                                                          
• Maintain good housekeeping.                                              
• Perform in-line testing according to the company sop and standards including individual supplier samples.                                           
• Ensures compliance to personal safety, food safety & GMP requirements.
• Actively participates in the conduct of trials of new products, equipment, and processes.
• Completion of full shift handover.                                                     
• Update of all tasks, as well as participation in Mission Directed Work Team (MDWT).
• Observe equipment operation during normal operating cycle.
•  Identify potential problems.
• Communicate problems, which cannot be, remedied to appropriate production and maintenance personnel. 
• Ensures all cleaning, lubrication, inspection & minor adjustment of all equipment under his/her responsibility.                                                         
• Monitor condition of equipment and makes necessary interventions to prevent failures in coordination with the Technical Support Team.                                                       
• Create Maintenance Notifications in AMM System (PMO1 – Breakdown & PMO2 - Condition-based Maintenance) for work outside scope of First Line Maintenance. 
• Participates in systematic Failure Analysis on all assets under his responsibility and recommends solutions to prevent recurrence of same failures within the CDM Process.             
• Assists, participates, and makes recommendations in line performance optimization meetings for all Machines & Equipment by using his understanding of the Key Performance Indicators such as:
• Planned & Unplanned Downtime.
• Work Order Backlog.
• Line Efficiency / Performance.
• Panned Maintenance Compliance.
• Man-hours spent on Breakdown Work – analyze together with Engineer. 
• Manufacturing and Maintenance Costs – track only.

What will make you successful?

• Grade 12/Matric or equivalent with Mathematics.
• 2 years relevant experience.
• Understanding the principles of Evaporation, Spray drying and the standardization process.
• Shift work is essential.
• Must be computer literate as well knowledge of SAP and SAM.
