    Strategic Materials Manager - Bryanston

    In this role you will be responsible for Guardian of the Strategic Materials Management process in the market (at NiM level) by:

    • Manage and maintain a motivated IMM/MRP Team to continuously ensure RM/PM availability and long term visibility on materials requirements.
    • Accountable for the Materials Planning Accuracy for all manufacturing plants in the market & Co-Manufacturers.
    • Collaborate as needed for the optimization of the supply network (including imported shipments) and cost (e.g. selection of proper incoterms).
    • Business Excellence role + Training & Learning in the area of MRP.
    • Ensures close and smooth relationships between Factory SC, DSP, Procurement and Suppliers.
    • Establish and ensure Current & Future MRP tactical health checks for the Market.

    A day in the life of...

    Strategic Materials Manager

    • Ensure aligned and efficient MRP process across all factories, from suppliers to factories, ensuring visibility towards both ends.                                              
    • Builds a bridge between DSP – Procurement – Factories                                                     
    • Accountable for the maintenance of the (Planning) Materials Master Data & collaborate with PROC and T&P to ensure the maintenance of other Master Data key for MRP planning for all plants in the market
    • Accountable for the stock policy and reordering points definition for all plants in the market. Lead and liaise with Factory SC, Procurement and Materials Planning teams towards continuous improvement, proactiveness and dynamic stock policy initiatives.                                              
    • Consolidate volumes / Allocate/ Arbitrate as needed between plants for all materials within the market (except for key materials covered by the ATM Strategic Supply lead, if any)                        
    • Accountable for enabling an efficient MRP and ordering process and use of systems so that MRP planners work on an exception based approach                                                         
    • Develop and deploy relevant MRP tactical health checks and measures for the Market, as relevant, and ensure current ones are known and used                                           
    • Facilitating planner & Procurement structured communication way on reviewing suppliers performance, issues, etc.                                               
    • Coordinates, and/or liaise with Procurement as needed, in case of supplier's escalation                                     
    • Ensure volumes in VRF are relevant and can be used for MACC/PRISM (challenge and support the MRP planners)                                             
    • Capability building                                                       
    • Contribute to the sourcing and supply risk mitigation strategies with Procurement and ensure alignment with DSP strategies                                
    • Event Management: Responsible to ensure smooth supply across multiple plants or scopes in the market (e.g.in case of sourcing change)                                                        
    • Track the domestic and import transportation & shipments lead times and factor it into planning parameter policy                                                  
    • Contribute and validate BCPs recommended by Procurement in alignment with the Business             
    • Train, support and coach the MRP planners on Best Practices and Tools                                                          
    • Support any new IT Planning solution initiatives (e.g. OMP in 2025 - as per roll-out plan)                                   
    • Ensure project management principles and alignment of projects among the supply chain               
    • Optimize the costs of raw & pack materials (e.g. decrease waste and bad goods)                               
    • Anticipate & handle supply issues (identify, communicate and minimize the risks)                                          
    • Review and update suppliers' capacities and flexibility, in collaboration with Procurement and ensure alignment with DSP strategies                  
    • Contribute to the career and succession planning of MRP planners, and to the back-up planning in collaboration with the Factory SC Manager

    Process Controller - Estcourt

    A day in the life of a Process Controller:

    • Ensures that good manufacturing practices are adhered to regarding CIP and product handling.                                                 
    • Standardizes batches in the most economical way to ensure first time right, good quality finished products.                                              
    • Control raw materials and the efficient usage of it including traceability and variances on raw materials.                                                  
    • Ensure that rework is controlled in terms of quantity and quality before adding to the new batch.                                                          
    • Maintain good housekeeping.                                              
    • Perform in-line testing according to the company sop and standards including individual supplier samples.                                           
    • Ensures compliance to personal safety, food safety & GMP requirements.
    • Actively participates in the conduct of trials of new products, equipment, and processes.
    • Completion of full shift handover.                                                     
    • Update of all tasks, as well as participation in Mission Directed Work Team (MDWT).
    • Observe equipment operation during normal operating cycle.
    •  Identify potential problems.
    • Communicate problems, which cannot be, remedied to appropriate production and maintenance personnel. 
    • Ensures all cleaning, lubrication, inspection & minor adjustment of all equipment under his/her responsibility.                                                         
    • Monitor condition of equipment and makes necessary interventions to prevent failures in coordination with the Technical Support Team.                                                       
    • Create Maintenance Notifications in AMM System (PMO1 – Breakdown & PMO2 - Condition-based Maintenance) for work outside scope of First Line Maintenance. 
    • Participates in systematic Failure Analysis on all assets under his responsibility and recommends solutions to prevent recurrence of same failures within the CDM Process.             
    • Assists, participates, and makes recommendations in line performance optimization meetings for all Machines & Equipment by using his understanding of the Key Performance Indicators such as:
    • Planned & Unplanned Downtime.
    • Work Order Backlog.
    • Line Efficiency / Performance.
    • Panned Maintenance Compliance.
    • Man-hours spent on Breakdown Work – analyze together with Engineer. 
    • Manufacturing and Maintenance Costs – track only.

    What will make you successful?

    • Grade 12/Matric or equivalent with Mathematics.
    • 2 years relevant experience.
    • Understanding the principles of Evaporation, Spray drying and the standardization process.
    • Shift work is essential.
    • Must be computer literate as well knowledge of SAP and SAM.

    A day in the life of...

    An CDT Executive:

    Support in developing and driving internal alignment of commercial strategies & plans to win externally:

    • Support the CDT Manager in leading the commercial planning process (ICP) to ensure timely cross-functional input and alignment to the key Category, Brand, Channel, Shopper and Customer growth opportunities and activation platforms
    • Support the CDT Manager in establishing winning commercial propositions and the development of customer and field sales plans.
    • Utilizing category analysis, shopper insights and other available analytics/tools to drive solutions for customers and channels
    • Partner with Brand and Sales Teams to develop actionable insights that will support Category driving initiatives

    • Support the CDT Manager in defining growth opportunities and main drivers for the category based on shopper data, customer needs and consumer demand moments

    • Develop channel solutions and contribute to build commercially aligned business cases and key initiatives that address the opportunity for future channel growth leveraging our categories strategies
    • Identify opportunities within all prioritized channels to execute the key category initiatives ensuring a frictionless on-line/off-line experience
    • Define the picture of success for the category in each prioritized channel and enable its implementation, continuous review and optimization
    • Assist the CDT manager in defining business strategy to win in each priority channel
    • Deliver profitable value sales growth and optimize customer margin, through improved return on trade investment and active mix management:                            
    • Build an understanding and support the CDT manager in using the full range of revenue and profit levers (e.g. brand pricing & promotional strategy, customer & trade investment, mix management) to drive profitable growth for both Nestlé (NNS/kg, %MC) and the customer (% and $ trade margin).
    • Contributes to aligned brand pricing & promotion strategies across the portfolio with marketing, sales & finance through robust consumer & shopper understanding, channel & customer dynamics and competitive landscape.
    • Supports in defining & executing the optimized Pack Price architecture (right pack at the right price in the right channel & ensuring profit expectations of both Nestlé & customer are satisfied) through fully understanding consumer, shopper & customer needs across prioritized channels
    • Has a basic knowledge of trade investment composition & structure across customers to ensure optimal counterparts are in place, to execute against aligned portfolio & brand pricing strategies & drive return on investment

    • Supports the CDT manager in developing clear promotional guidelines/policies across our channels & customers based on agreed brand pricing strategies, infused with consumer & shopper insights. 
    • Partner with marketing, sales & finance to optimize promotion plans based on systematic promotional evaluation, challenge effectiveness, funding & mechanics, consistently applying Keep/Modify/Drop mindset, balancing trade investment with customer tactics and needs, to improve return on investment

    A day in the life of a Nestle Infant Nutrition Medical Delegate:

    Product and concept detailing in the assigned territory:

    • Apply Professional Negotiation Skills at an advanced level and use the appropriate product, concept knowledge and research to detail the NIN range to HCPs.

    Territory management:

    • Manage the assigned territory of about 250 HCPs including HCI’s in assigned territory.
    • Achievement of field force effectiveness as per Master data management/ HCP classification/ HCP and HCI segmentation, master schedule planning, HCP call rate, call strike rate and execution of territory action plans.

    What will make you successful?

    • B B/BSc Dietetics/ Nutrition or Nursing degree holder with relevant 2 years plus experience
    • Experience in Medical Delegate role or a representative in the pharmaceutical industry will be a benefit.
    • Must be fluent in both English and Afrikaans (non-negotiable)
    • Experience with data management using a digital device and MS Excel intermediate experience required
    • Must have a valid/unendorsed driver’s license
