Process Engineer at Bühler Group

A vacancy exists for a Process Engineer - Reporting to the Team Manager Technology in Buhler (Pty) Ltd Johannesburg

Tasks

• Assist the technology department in providing correct information according to Bühler standards for the design of concept or execution diagrams and correct machine specifications.
• Provide technical support to Sales, Customer Service, and the entire Project Execution department.
• Establish solutions for customer opportunities and projects.
• Surveys of simple and complex plants. Commissioning single machines and support for standard and complex plants.
• Development of technological experience and knowhow and the usage of it (creating of flow diagrams - >60% storage facilities).
• Development of independent work and project execution.
• Compliance with processes, procedures, and tools.
• Compliance of agreed fix points/ delivery dates within the project.
• Autonomous conducting of single machine start up at local customers’ sites, including subsequent reporting.
• Support of Sales, CS, Quotation and Project Execution with technical matters of equipment and processes.
• Perform first plant start-up with an experienced person.
• Perform plant start-up of single machines with Discharge certificate.
• Support technology department with sharing knowledge and skills, establish flow diagrams for simple and standard projects (Grain Storage Solutions and Milling), according to correct Buhler standards.
• Doing surveys or site visits and establish solutions with an experienced person.
• Establishes Customer-related solutions on his/her own, giving consideration to the standard modules.
• Technological customer consulting.
• Customer consulting on spare and wear parts, retrofit packs, service contracts, and e-Business solutions.
• Involvement in new developments.

• Commissioning of plants or equipment with product and adjust process to ensure plant is running efficiently on contractual performance.
• Record data during commissioning, and mill surveys. Weekly reports during commissioning and final report after return in a qualified manner
• Capture all relevant data on Bühler system.
• Record any project deviations, technical issues, and product improvements in the Bühler CAQ system.
• Capture return of experience and best practices, apply lessons learned to all templates
   

Required qualifications

• Minimum 1 years in a commercial processing facility or proof of sufficient skills.
• Willing to travel a great deal (approx. > 30%).
• Strong planning, organizing and priority setting skills.
• Higher technological education.
• Fluent in English.
• Good knowledge of AutoCAD will be beneficial

• Good industry knowledge.
• Comfortable working on multiple projects at one time. Able to plan and organize work in order to meet project dates and objectives.
• Knowledge and application of the fundamentals of efficient letter and e-mail communications.
• Expert knowledge of MS Office, IBM, SAP Basic, PPM, and other additional programs.
• Good knowledge of all laboratory methods that are applied in a modern grain mill
