    Procurement Specialist

    Procurement Specialist

    Responsibilities:

    • Responsible for developing and implementing category/commodity strategy across MEA.
    • Responsible for the sustainable sourcing for allocated categories and commodities
    • Identify and manage market / price risk for commodities and materials
    • Complete all operational functions within purchasing role
    • Manage and develop supply base security of supply and contribute to total cost ownership objectives.
    • Leverages market knowledge and shares with Procurement Directs Manager
    • Manage RFx’s process, supplier selection and award notification
    • Market research, qualification and on-boarding of new suppliers.
    • Identify, analyse and execute in conjunction with the approval from line manager regarding cost savings opportunities
    • Tracking of Savings opportunities
    • Create, update and manage Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's), Work Instructions and Guidelines
    • Manage supplier agreements related to service and performance through Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s)
    • Reporting as requested in SAP / BW.
    • Manage special projects
    • Facilitate and manage the supplier sourcing process with cross functional sourcing teams
    • Sourcing of new products and manage roll out to customers with sales team.
    • Provide tactical and operational support to the MEA.
    • Timeous feedback and accurate delivery of high quality work.
    • Directs and Capex costs below published Inflationary expectations and budget impacting on improved GM %.

    • Meeting or Exceeding Cost Saving Targets
    • This position is integral to the success of the Directs portfolio, requiring a technically competent individual with specialist skills and knowledge of procurement concepts and fundamentals.
    • Good communication skills and assertiveness are essential, as the position requires interaction with middle management. The individual will be required to make recommendations based on judgement and understanding of the implications to the business.

    • Ownership of recommendations through implementation and benefits realisation.

    • Managing multiple projects simultaneously, including managing priorities and timelines

    • Developing internal stakeholder relationships and managing expectations with resources.
    • Achieving outcomes with professionalism, a sense of urgency, effective stakeholder management, leverage of experience and use of commercial acumen.

    • Finance qualification (B.Comm / CIS / CIMA)
    • Supply Chain qualification (NQF 6 Dip. SCM / similar)
    • Engineering qualification (B. Eng / N. Dip. Eng.)
    • 3 year’s + experience in a procurement or Supply Chain Operational Capacity,
    • Experience in negotiating across a range of external and internal stakeholders
    • Proven project management experience
    • Professional procurement expertise based on depth of experience and commercial acumen
    • Knowledge of trends and market dynamics for global commodities that influence pricing movements.
    • Ability to Lead and Work with cross functional teams
    • Strong communication and listening skills
    • Self-starter who is able to multi-task and ability to take projects to completion.
    • Knowledge of strategic sourcing, procurement concepts, processes, activities and trends.
    • Negotiation skills
    • Analytical interpretation and problem-solving skills
    • Project management and contract management skills including tenacity to deliver outcomes.
    • Commerical Law Concepts
