The purpose of a Product Application Engineer (PAE) is tbecome an integral member of the Marketing & Sales team (M&S) and provide technical sales support to; the Bi sales force and customers by bringing deep or specific product and application knowledge thelp understand the customer application, aid selection, put Bi product in the customer’s specifications and close deals. By creating a high level of trust in the customer network gather information thelp create Go-to-Market strategies and tactics in conjunction with the M&S team.
Main Responsibilities
Assist in achieving or exceeding the company’s sales targets by using technical competence tposition Bi as the best-in-class specialist in the field of: Bearings, Gearboxes & Couplings, Electric motors & Drives, Chains & Sprockets, Belts & Pulleys, Lubricants & Tools, Services.
Use technical knowledge and experience ttrain and give credibility and support tour field sales, internal sales and tcustomers.
With the M&S team develop a market saturation plan for the Bi offer with measurable tasks and outcomes.
Train and support the branches tsell the product proposition and the lowest TC(total cost of ownership) solutions.
Use the company CRM tmanage opportunities and plan actions.
By continual development, ensure the Bi M&S team have deep product knowledge.
Provide monthly reporting on market trends, opposition activities, product developments, business opportunities and challenges.
Work with the relevant Product Manager and Sales Teams tcreate a clear focus on resource deployment and up skilling tenhance competences and capabilities.
Contribute tM&S action plans/business plans and review with the team monthly.
Achieve sales through:
Be the primary route-to-sale in areas of technical consultative applications.
Preparation and presentation of technical talks and demonstrations tinternal and external stakeholders.
Identification of product differentiators.
Adaption of the Bi offer tmeet the customer application.
Assess market competition by comparing the company’s product offer.
Provide the lowest TCsolutions tdrive customer uptime and tposition Bi as first choice for customers.
Provide Customer Support by:
Visit customers requiring specific product assistance of a technical nature and give guidance and training on correct product use.
Promote the product through sales training sessions, webinars, etc.
Interact with suppliers tprovide the lowest TCsolutions and position BI as first choice with customers.
Branch Support:
Develop training material and train tsupport product knowledge transfer tsales staff.
Develop value selling skills of sales staff.
Complete joint visits ttarget customers.
Support roadshows and exhibitions.
Key Performance Indicators
Sales growth per relevant offer/s.
Pro-active internal and external call/action plan report and reviewed monthly.
Sales force training sessions conducted.
Pipeline of projects as primary lead generator.
Qualification and Skills Required
Technical Degree or diploma or equivalent experience
Must have thorough knowledge of the core products and applications.
Must have at least 5+ years business development skills.
