Product Design Manager at iKhokha

So, what will you do?

• You will be responsible for leading a Product Design team, that is embedded within cross-functional Pods, working on a dynamic mix of product challenges.
• You will craft the product design strategy, providing guidance on the team’s output, enabling collaboration between silos and ensuring high-quality execution

Deal Breakers;

• A minimum of 5 years as a Product or User Experience Designer and
• A minimum of 2+ years’ experience in a management position, directly managing and leading people.
• Specific knowledge of People management, Design strategy, Design thinking, User experience design, User interface design.
• Demonstratable business understanding of Product and Technology.

What would you be responsible for?

Manage people:

• Craft growth paths for Product Designers within the organization
• Take on mentorship of Product Designers
• Give and solicit feedback from designers and the broader product team to continually raise our bar of quality
• Ensure a healthy psychological work environment for Product Designers
• Ensure that Product Designers have all the resources needed to perform
• Advocate for the interests of the Product Design team at a leadership level

Lead design projects and strategies:

• Formulate design strategies to assist the business in achieving quarterly and annual key results and objectives
• Plan and organize design projects and sprints to solve identified customer and business problems
• Delegate responsibilities to Product Designers within projects to maximize efficiency and quality of output
• Coordinate design tasks and designers across different Pods
• Ensure high-quality Product design outputs
• Make design trade-offs to meet project objectives

Lead design chapter:

• Participate and contribute to envisioning, defining, documenting, and evangelizing the Product Design practice
• Setup and facilitate design peer reviews to build camaraderie and raise our bar for quality
• Setup, organize and contribute to the ongoing maintenance and updating of shared design documentation repositories
• Keep the entire Product Design team abreast of industry leading processes, strategies and technology within the Product Design space. 

Qualifications;

• A Design Degree or Interaction/User Experience/Product Design Certification.
