OVERALL PURPOSE

This is a fantastic opportunity for a Product Owner to join a growing fintech business. This role will see you working very closely with our Data Science team to define and manage our product backlog, ensuring we deliver a best-in-class product. Working collaboratively with our Head of Product and Data Science Team Leads, you will be responsible for our product and its end-to-end features.

Our current Tech team is lean, and we’re looking for someone who can work alongside Data Science to remove blockers, work effectively and continuously adapt to ensure we deliver the best product to our customers. You’ll be successful in the role, if you can inspire and motivate our Data Science team to deliver top-class solutions with a healthy sense of urgency.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Managing the product backlog, prioritising in line with strategy and business objectives by determining and managing budget, scope and time constraints

• Overseeing the development of our product by playing a key role in sprint planning

• Stakeholder management - you are the link between stakeholders and our Data Science team, ensuring buy-in and the delivery of clear instructions and deliverables for our Developers

• Adopting a mindset of product iteration, responsible for evaluating progress at each stage of the development process

• Building an understanding of our users through market research and customer engagement in order to adjust development accordingly

THE SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE WE’RE LOOKING FOR

• Bachelor degree in a relevant field or equivalent

• Product owner certification an added bonus

• 1-2 years experience as a Product Owner, ideally within a start-up or high-growth company

• Strong analytical or statistical background

• Experience working with data science teams and implementing data driven products

• Experience with prototyping, testing, and validating product hypotheses

• Experience defining, prioritising and communicating a product roadmap across the organisation

• Managing and building out a backlog with a focus on iterative and continuous delivery

• Hands-on experience working with Engineering or Data teams in an Agile environment

• Experience building products iteratively by applying lean principles and focusing on MVPs

• Understanding of agile development process

• Technical acumen and genuine passion for technology

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
