Product & Sales Analyst at EarthStream

Position Overview:

In the capacity of Product and Sales Analyst, you will be responsible for analysing the auction sales data, developing the sales reports for the senior management of the Group and overseeing the global rough gemstone inventory. You will be required to conduct and develop auction results analysis, identify the price trends, scrutinise bidding and further develop price knowledge. This role will include the responsibility of stock control and stock management between the various operations.

You will be required to oversee the use and further development of the company stock management and electronic auction platform. Close communication with the mining operations will be required for budgeting purposes as well as for planning possible future auctions and mine visits may be required from time to time. Customer relations and management of the customer data base will form part of this role and will include managing the due diligence process for the vetting of auction customers.

The role responsibilities will include:

Auction & Sales Analysis :

• Detailed analysis of auction results data and preparation of management reports.
• Updating and refining of price matrixes for both emerald and ruby

Stock control & Product movement :

• Manage inventory movements between operations
• Ensure effective stock control measures and keep an up-to-date mass balance.
• Oversee the use of the Group stock management system (Fantasy) and further development thereof.
• Periodic mine site visits to further develop reporting standards and stock control.
• Oversee and lead further development of the Group online auction platform (BidGemmer)

Budgeting:

• Assist with the planning of the auction timing based on mine production and market requirement.
• Provide and present stock values.
• Working closely with operations and finance team for budgeting purposes.
• Responsible for the Group budget revenue model (price matrix, production profile, auctions and other sales).Monitoring

Customer database:

• Further develop customer data base.
• Manage customer due diligence and KYC compliance.
• Develop online auction applications.
• Preparation and distribution of performance reports to the customers.
• Assist in managing customer auction participation.

Development:

• Close working relationship with the Product Team to understand all aspects of product processing and sales which will enable leadership in the progression of auction analysis, reporting and automation.
• Provide assistance and training to operational product team.

Traceability:

• Manage the Proof of Provenance and Blockchain traceability programs
• Work closely with the Group Sustainability Director and other industries bodies on ethical supply initiatives.
• Be involved in the implementation of traceability systems within the gemstone sector

Other:

• Develop an in-depth understanding of both the emerald and ruby rough grading systems (gemmological knowledge).
• Travel to operations, trade shows and auctions when required.
• Assist in preparation of presentations and other reports and make presentations within the Group and industry bodies from time to time.
• General research on coloured gemstones and the industry.
• Provide data and relevant assistance to other team members when required.

Minimum qualifications and experience:

• Bachelor’s Degree/Diploma or equivalent professional qualification in Accounting/Finance (Management accountant), Database system, Gemology or Geology.
• A minimum of 2 years’ experience in Data management Operations / Finance, preferably in a mining or mining-related industry.
• Advanced user of MS Excel, PowerPoint, Word and other relevant software/accounting systems
• A good understanding of operations and finance (management accounts rather than financial)
• Excellent English communications skills (both written and verbally) and an ability to work in a team
• Gemmological experience would be an advantage.
