Job Description

• Are you a results-driven Production Manager with a strong background in plastics manufacturing and extrusion? A leading manufacturer based in the Western Cape is looking for a skilled leader to oversee daily plant operations, optimize manufacturing processes, and ensure quality standards are consistently met.

Key Responsibilities

• Operational Leadership: Lead, manage, and optimize daily production workflows to meet volume targets and delivery schedules.
• Process Optimization: Monitor machine performance, continuous improvement initiatives, and waste reduction strategies (OEE, Lean Manufacturing).
• Quality Assurance: Ensure all manufactured products strictly adhere to local and international technical standards and quality systems.
• Maintenance & Plant Efficiency: Work closely with engineering and maintenance teams to schedule downtime and ensure equipment reliability.
• Health & Safety Compliance: Maintain safety standards in accordance with relevant occupational health and safety regulations.
• Team Management: Mentor, supervise, and develop shop-floor staff to maximize productivity and maintain high morale.

Requirements

• Qualification: Tertiary Qualifications
• Experience: Minimum of 5–8+ years of production management experience within the plastics, extrusion, or heavy manufacturing sectors.
• Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of extrusion processes, quality management systems, and plant safety standards.
• Skills: Strong leadership abilities, analytical problem-solving skills, and proficiency in ERP system management (e.g., SAP, SYSPRO).
