Production Manager at Mayfly Agri (Pty) Ltd

• A market leader in agrochemical products is seeking a driven and experienced Production Manager to lead fertiliser manufacturing operations. This is a key leadership role responsible for ensuring efficient, safe and high-quality production across multiple sites, with a strong focus on operational excellence and people development.

Minimum requirements for the role:

• Must have a Bachelor’s degree in Production Management, Industrial Engineering or a related field
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in production management, preferably in fertiliser or chemical manufacturing
• Must have proven experience in contractor management and multi-site operations
• Strong leadership, planning and analytical skills
• Solid understanding of procurement, stock control and compliance frameworks

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

• Leading production planning and raw material forecasting.
• Monitoring usage variance and ensuring consistent product quality.
• Driving continuous improvement in production efficiency and output.
• Managing procurement of packaging materials and coordinating repairs and maintenance.
• Ensuring cost-effective sourcing and equipment reliability.
• Overseeing contractor performance and compliance.
• Supervising smaller satellite sites to ensure alignment with central operations.
• Maintaining optimal stock levels of raw materials, packaging and finished goods.
• Leading and developing production teams through workforce planning, training and performance management.
• Ensuring full compliance with safety, legal and environmental regulations and promoting a zero-harm culture.
